This camp is for children in grades 2-6 who want to be outside, rain or shine, learning about nature. The camp will be run by Amanda Thompson, EGLT Program Director, and EGLT student interns.
Campers will spend time looking for live bugs and insects, learning about each species and their special features, and go on outdoor adventures to learn to identify trees, flowers, birds along the Metacomet Trail and aquatic insects in Muddy Brook, Salmon Brook.
Campers will also learn outdoors skills like basic first aid, knot tying, trail orientation skills, and what to pack for a hike.
Drop off will be at a different location within East Granby every day.
Due to the guidelines placed on us in light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have increased the time of the camp to include a lunch option. Your child may bring a pre-packed lunch and enjoy it out in nature.
We will be publicizing additional screening requirements as we get closer. Please be aware the programmatic piece will be similar each week so please plan accordingly.
