The After School Ski Sundown Ski/ Snowboard program is back! Join us for fun on the slopes this winter, get some healthy exercise and make new friends!

Fridays, January 5, 12, 19, 26, and February 2, 2024.

Students, age 8 years and in 3rd grade and up, can register for the Ski Sundown program. Students are transported to and from the mountain after school. Staff and parent volunteers are present on the bus and at the mountain.

This is an independent skiing/ snowboarding program. Youth are expected to have a level of responsibility and independence, be able to manage their behavior on the bus and on the mountain, be responsible for their gear, and arrive at the bus on time for departure.

Lessons:
Ski/ snowboard lessons are available for all levels, and are grouped by age and ability. Lessons with Ski Sundown's professional snow sports instructors are at 5:00 pm, and run for 1 hour, each week. Please note: if your child does not sign up for lessons they will not receive any instruction from Ski Sundown Staff or our parent volunteer chaperones.

Transportation:
All ski/ snowboard equipment must be dropped off at the school in the morning.

Students will travel via motor coach. Middle School and High School students will load their gear and board the bus at regular dismissal time. The bus will then go to Seymour School, where students will be dismissed by Office Staff 10 minutes early, to load their gear, board the bus, and head to Ski Sundown.

The bus will depart Ski Sundown at 7:00 pm. Pickup for ALL students is in the East Granby Middle School Parking Lot at 7:30 pm. Students CAN NOT be picked up at Ski Sundown.

How to Register:
Complete the online registration and payment on our website, then print, fill out, and sign the Group Participant Program Agreement Form linked below. Please note: Electronic signatures can not be accepted.

After completing the agreement, please mail it to:
East Granby Recreation Parks & Recreation, 9 Center Street, East Granby, CT 06026, OR deliver it in-person, to the Parks & Recreation Office (79 North Main Street). Please do not scan and email forms to the office; Ski Sundown requires a wet signature and will not accept electronic signatures.

The signed Participant Agreement Form MUST be returned to the Parks and Recreation Department within 1-week of your online registration date, and no later than Monday, November 6, 2023.

Failure to return the signed form on time will result in your child's place in the program being forfeited and your fee refunded.

Registrations received after November 5, 2023, will incur a $25 Late Fee, charged by Ski Sundown. No registrations will be accepted after December 1, 2023.

Chaperones:
Chaperones are expected to model safe responsible behavior on the slopes and in the lodge and be willing to step in and correct behavior that is not acceptable. If you are a parent/guardian interested in volunteering, please email Alicia at aliciav@egtownhall.com.
